KickVision football boot

Your boot was built for someone else's foot.

Every player is different. Every standard boot is identical. KickVision exists to close that gap.

The research

The data points to the same place.

Decades of sports medicine research shows that football boots cause avoidable injuries and performance loss — not because players are unlucky, but because the boot was never shaped for their foot.

33%

Football players have flat feet

A common biomechanical variation that standard boots completely ignore. Every sprint and lateral cut increases medial knee stress, shin splint risk, and plantar fascia strain — because the midsole was not built for this foot.

Mahratta et al., 2021
94%

Players believe boots contribute to injuries

Yet 63% have never been advised by medical staff to change their boots. Players are managing avoidable problems every week and accepting them as normal.

Lower Limb Injuries & Football Boots, 2024
86%

Of all football injuries are lower extremity

Foot, ankle, and lower leg injuries dominate the game. Many are overuse injuries that build gradually through repeated poor-fit contact between foot and boot.

Hawkins & Fuller, Premier League data

Average absence for a severe injury

Half of all football injuries are classified as severe. Studies link a meaningful portion of these to pressure and misalignment caused by boot geometry that does not match the player's foot.

How a standard boot affects your foot

Flat feet and overpronation

The arch collapses inward under load. Standard midsoles are neutral by design — accelerating knee stress and fatigue in every session.

Toe box compression

Standard lasts narrow toward the toe, restricting natural splay during push-off and causing blisters that most players simply tolerate.

Heel counter mismatch

Narrow heels slip and blister. Wide heels are compressed. A standard counter fits neither — and friction accumulates with every stride.

High arches and supination

Lateral ankle sprain risk increases. Poor shock absorption over a full match leads to cumulative load that standard boots do not account for.

Volume and instep mismatch

Players loosen laces at halftime. High instep feet are compressed before the match ends — reducing ankle support when injury risk is highest.

Asymmetric feet

Your left and right feet differ. Every boot is symmetric. The mismatch builds session by session into chronic discomfort players blame on everything but their footwear.

Football boot detail

Players are dealing with it quietly.

We surveyed football players across Berlin clubs — regular players, no pre-selected conditions. Almost all reported some form of discomfort or injury directly tied to how their boot fitted their foot. Blisters, heel irritation, Achilles pressure, tightness across 90 minutes.

These were not players with rare problems. They were standard players wearing standard boots — experiencing things they had learned to consider normal.

"My Achilles tendon and my heel got scratched up by my shoes sometimes because my feet are too long or so — I had to find other, longer shoes."

I am a Master's graduate in Industrial Engineering and International Management, based in Berlin. KickVision grew directly from my thesis research — a study of football players' footwear problems and a manufacturing concept designed to solve them.

The research kept pointing to the same finding: almost every player has a foot that does not match the boot they are wearing. The injuries, the blisters, the second-half tightness — these are predictable outcomes of a structural mismatch that mass production requires and nobody has fixed. I am working on fixing it.

Our Approach

The Vision — and where we are now.

Our vision is a boot built around every foot. We are in the early stages — currently running hands-on prototype tests with individual players in Berlin to prove the concept before we scale.

Active now
Phase 1

Manual prototype testing

We measure individual players' feet, make targeted modifications to existing boots, and test the results over real training sessions — understanding what changes make a felt difference before building anything more complex.

Next
Phase 2

Improved foot scanning

A repeatable, precise process for capturing each player's foot geometry — building toward a system that translates foot data directly into modified insole and midsole design.

Planned
Phase 3

Targeting injury and performance

Using data from prototype tests to identify which modifications have the most measurable impact on injury reduction and on-pitch performance.

Planned
Phase 4

Full manufacturing process

A complete production system that delivers a fully personalized boot — from scan to finished product — without compromising on quality or durability.

KickVision boot

A boot built around your foot.
Not the other way around.

Football boots have never been more expensive. And yet the fit experience has not improved. Mass production requires one standard last — players with narrow heels, wide forefeet, flat arches, or high insteps all buy the same shape and adapt their feet to it.

No brand at consumer level offers genuine geometry personalization in football footwear. KickVision is building toward being the first — starting with the players who feel the gap most acutely.
